Slight spoilers for Series 3 episode 1, but not many I don't think. Basically just a fluffy little bromance thing going on here with are two Consulting Dorktectives.
The 'woman stabbed with a spoon' is an actual news story that I heard about from a friend of mine a few months ago. I thought it was just weird enough for Sherlock's interest for all of two seconds. XD
