First, let's answer a fairly legitimate question: What is a Lokirin?
Well, if you've seen the Avengers or are at least familiar with Norse Mythology and/or the Thor side of the Marvel universe, you should at least know who Loki is; the whimsical shape-shifting God of Mischief. My fascination with him stems from the fact that in the new Marvel movie The Avengers Loki is portrayed as a frankly adorable-looking man who is the way he is because he has severe daddy and jealously issues. Plus -- the accent. Gotta love the accent.
The second part of this insane thing is called a Kirin. Well, a Kirin is sort of like a Japanese unicorn. It is usually made up of some combination of these animals: a horse, a deer, a carp, and/or a dragon. They're rather interesting-looking creatures, sometimes being covered in scales or sometimes having a mane like a lion.
Now, what do you get when you cross these two things together?
A Lokirin!!
As you can see, I am currently working on a My Little Pony-styled version of this odd creature on Photoshop. My dream is becoming a reality...
