At the time of drawing
these I had gotten really interested in what the Phantom, or Erik, might
actually look like. I settled for a very sunken in face, dry skin
(almost like a mummy), a nose hole, scars that even affect his hairline,
and of course golden eyes. I thought the scars would be right because
of how hard I believe his childhood had to have been. I know the book
describes him with little hair, but I'll be honest: I'm not a big fan of
bald guys. So I have him hair, but none growing in the spot his scar
reaches his hairline.
I'm fascinated with Erik because I have an unhealthy fascination with mental disorders (having a few myself). I don't know exactly what Erik has, but I think he might have a little autism that helps him to create music and design architecture. But I'm just guessing here... don't take my word for it. :/
