Even though he claims it's easy "if people would just think!", Sherlock does not meet many individuals who actually hold the power of deduction at his level. Whenever he does, I'd assume he would be very interested in this person and would want to compare their methods to his own (the only exception, of course, would be Mycroft). That is the only reason he's giving me a chance here. Otherwise he would probably say "Boring. Don't you have some unpacking to do?" or something akin to that.
But yeah. Just thought I'd explain that.
